Welcome to Be Local, the UK’s first ever Eco-local Reward Scheme to benefit both local businesses and households, as well as the local environment.
Re-launched in May 2021, following the winter lock down, Be Local is a community support initiative developed by The Hive, a full-service hospitality and coworking hub in Cranbrook, Kent, that caters for a range of social and business needs across the local community. Driven by their passion to support all things local, The Hive’s vision was to build on these core values by proactively helping the local community to thrive post-lockdown. And so, by using part of its Covid-19 Grant to fund the initiative, Be Local was born.
Be Local provides vital exposure for organisations across the Weald of Kent and Sussex, rewards loyal customers with a variety of deals and discounts, and supports a range of good causes including its chosen charity, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
FREE MONTHLY LISTING FOR THE FIRST 3 MONTHS – until 15th September 2021 !
A big deal for local business.

You can edit your listing as many times as you like to promote your special offers throughout the year.
After 3 months (from month 4) your Be Local listing will cost just £8.40 per month, £2 of which will go directly to our chosen charity, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, with the remainder going towards maintaining, advertising and promoting the scheme across the Weald of Kent & Sussex.
Benefits of the scheme include featuring in the Be Local directory, map, and search tools; prominent homepage exposure for each deal added; an opportunity to promote your own ‘green beliefs’ and chosen charity; a chance to showcase your organisation on the Be Local blog and news pages; a window sticker (or flowerbed sign for a small additional fee); and a Be local folder to record the effectiveness of your promotions.
You will also be contact from time to time to participate in promotions, social media activity and for the opportunity to feature in our ‘Shop front and personal’ featured stories area.
Whether you have a retail outlet in the high street, a nearby office, or are working from home, create your free listing today or phone 0800 0219 555. If you run a not-for-profit organisation, you can apply for continued free web listings and promotion as part of the scheme. Please contact us for further details.
Anyone can order the cheapest products to be delivered from the other side of the world, but as we become increasingly concerned about the environment and begin to refocus on factors such as customer service, more of us are choosing to Be Local, spend local, and ultimately, love local.
The aim of Be Local is to reward loyal customers by offering them a range of exclusive offers. Members can look out for local window stickers or flowerbed signs, browse the Be Local website for the latest deals, and check out their weekly newsletter detailing what’s on offer, as well as events taking place in the local area. To claim a special offer, simply present your card in store, or quote your membership number in your email or over the phone when you place an order and/or make a purchase.
So, if you live in the Weald, love to shop local, and can’t wait to grab yourself a bargain, sign up for a FREE Be Local membership card today. Alternatively, you can pop into The Hive at 19, Stone Street, Cranbrook, or simply phone 0800 0219 555 (freephone for The Hive) or 0800 0219 111 (freephone customer service line) to receive your card through your letter box.
Supporting local is also a great way of reducing our carbon footprint and ‘doing our bit’ for the environment. As well as promoting the idea of eco-localisation (activities which result in shorter supply chains and help to sustain the local economy), the Be Local scheme is also designed to actively support a range of environmental causes. As part of this, we will be donating a proportion of funds raised to our chosen charity, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, which is committed to creating more bee-friendly forage, and therefore a more sustainable habitat, for the UK’s favourite food pollinators: the humble bumblebee.
Becoming a part of the Be Local community couldn’t be easier. Simply click for a free listing or membership card and start reaping the rewards today!
